Traveling to Gallaudet University
Gallaudet University is located in Northeast Washington, DC, the capital of the United States of America. Gallaudet can be conveniently accessed via the Red Line on the Metro at the NoMa-Gallaudet U station.
Several airports serve the Washington, DC area. Ronald Reagan International Airport (DCA) is approximately 30 minutes away from campus by Metro, Dulles International Airport (IAD) is approximately 1-1.5 hours away by Metro, and Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) is approximately 1-1.5 hours away by commuter rail. Campus can also be reached from DC's Union Station, the major rail station serving the area. Union Station is approximately 10 minutes away by Metro.
On-campus parking is $5/day, and parking passes must be acquired at the Department of Public Safety on the first floor of Carlin Hall. Driver's ID, plate information, and car registration documents are required to purchase a parking pass. Parking can be accessed on Lincoln Circle under the Hanson Plaza, or behind the Field House. Alternatively, ample parking is available behind the Kellogg Conference Center."
The conference organizers recognize that many conference participants will be traveling to the United States from abroad. Please also be aware that citizens or nationals of many countries are eligible for the Visa Waiver Program which requires valid Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) approval but which will not require a formal visa application.
Accommodations
There is a range of accommodations at and near Gallaudet University in Washington, DC. We are working on ensuring early bird rates at a couple of hotels strategically located within a few minutes from the metro Red line and Gallaudet University Campus. More information is to follow.
On-Campus Accommodations
A limited number of dorms. Dorms on campus are $46.50 per night plus a linen fee of $16. Gallaudet is making several dorms available for the duration of the conference. 3. You will then receive an emailed confirmation. Please open the email and click either the red button on the top that says “manage booking” or scroll further down and click the red button that says “get the app”. We suggest downloading the app as you will also be able to use this app to check-in, control functions in your room, and browse menus.
4. Pull up your reservation using one of the methods above and attach your credit card to the reservation. You can also prepay if you wish. Please note that all reservations must be guaranteed with a valid credit card.

Lodging Near Campus
Please remember that DC is a big city, and one should always remain vigilant of their surroundings. If you have concerns regarding a specific hotel or Airbnb location, there is plenty of information online.
However, to help our members identify areas that might be close to campus and provide a nice variety of dining options and hotels, we recommend looking south of Florida Ave NE. H Street has become a very vibrant area with plenty of businesses and restaurants. West, right outside of campus, Union Market also offers a large variety of dining options but fewer hotels.
We also have early bird rates with two hotels nearby.
The areas north of campus, beyond New York Ave NE and Mt Olivet Rd NE, are not recommended for walking and have much fewer options.
